See this light? It means someone's been slacking!

Get 116 @ Nyaa!

So, so sorry that we’re behind schedule! I was dealing with some personal issues and it put me in a state of not wanting to do anything. But now that I managed this episode I can keep going!

Here we have the start of the Job Series, another Koma Brothers centered set of episodes. And the Three Kingdoms segment is still going strong. What’s also strong is the amount of puns going on in the Okurairi segment, which I’ll go into detail below.

Translator Notes:

  • Okurairi (おくらいり) is a slang for something being cancelled or shelved, mainly things such as design, scripts, and proposals.  Okura meaning an old storehouse from the Edo period and iri meaning to put in.
  • The first cancelled yo-kai, Chikyuugomasan (ちきゅうごまさん) is a play of chikyuu (Earth) + chikyuugoma (gyroscope) + Komasan.
  • Transfarmer (トランスファーマー) is an obvious Transformers parody. The line Transfarmer says is also a parody of a line Optimus Prime says in the first live-action movie.
  • Unchiburiburi (うんちぶりぶり) is one of two dangerous poop pun yo-kai. Unchi meaning poop and buriburi meaning farting in this case. Buri also refers to the species of Japanese yellowtail fish as well.
  • Unmorashi (うんもらし) is the second one. Un still refers to poop but it is also the word for luck. Morashi means to leak out, which you might recognize from the yo-kai Morezou. It’s a dangerous name..
  • Next we have Jason Dog and Freddy J, which are most likely named alike to Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger, despite them not looking very similar to them.
  • Gashadokurobe-sama is based off of a character from ‘Yatterman!’, Dokurobe, who is also a red skull and ends their speech in the same dialect.
  • To include some minor little things: ‘Wahaii’ is definitely referring to Hawaii, though since this world is fictional they can’t refer to it.
  • And finally for Everyone’s Yo-kai Song featuring Amekome club, Pintocorn’s line of ‘This is a pen’ is a very common joke used through lots of shows, as it’s a basic kind of thing you’d learn in a Japanese English class.

  1. I’m no fireman, but I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to use a mannequin during fire rescue drills. Also, for Nate/Keita being trapped inside Okurairi, he could just summon Mirapo/Ungaikyo to get himself out, then use the medal again to get the latter out.
